Making Bigots Pay

A win for the good guys.

You may have heard of the Westboro Baptist Church, a coven of nutbars who show up at military funerals with signs proclaiming that military deaths in Iraq are God's retribution for American tolerance of homosexuals.
These vile scumbags just got handed their heads on a silver platter for bringing their road show to the funeral of a US Army private in Maryland. The family sued and a Baltimore jury awarded them $10.9 million after finding that the group had violated the family's privacy and intentionally inflicted emotional distress.
The Westboro Baptist vermin powerfully illustrate the distinction between free speech and hate speech and the need for a clear delineation between the two. People like this inflict enormous suffering on their carefully chosen victims. They deserve nothing short of a prison cell.

While I wholeheartedly support this decision, does your outrage for these tactics extend to Code Pinko??:

mcguire - I read the item you cited. Code Pink is nothing like these vermin and if you had any intellectual integrity that would be obvious to you. What is it with you right wing nutjobs?
