Brian Mulroney's attempts to cover-up his close relationship with Karheinz Schreiber took another hit today with publication by the Globe & Mail of a 2000 letter from Mila Mulroney to Schreiber's wife, Barbel.
Mila's handwritten letter, dated 24 January, 2000, seeks to comfort Mrs. Schreiber. From the Globe:
"I had wanted to put pen to paper sooner. But at times like these words do not seem adequate," Mrs. Mulroney wrote to Mr. Schreiber's wife, Barbel Schreiber.
"I know what you are going through. It is never easy when our husbands have difficulties. Rest assured that it will pass. Things will get better, you have an excellent lawyer and the truth is certainly the best weapon."
It's hard to know what "truth" Mrs. Mulroney refers to. There's been a profound lack of truth in this business.
